Higher productivity and conserving national resources through industrialized construction
The secretary of the Tehran Province Mass Builders Association said that industrialized construction has been neglected and that this method increases construction speed and safety and enables better, more efficient use of materials, national resources and energy.
According to the public relations office of ISTACO Steel Structures, Ramin Gooran, visiting ISTACO's stand at the Tehran building industry exhibition, spoke about the importance of paying attention to industrialized construction: when industrialization is discussed in construction, people look only at price, while many factors are involved.
The secretary added that faster construction, lighter structures, greater safety against accidents and earthquakes, better and more efficient use of materials, and the preservation of national capital and energy are achievements of industrialization that are not given attention. Saying that we have not succeeded in industrializing construction and have not had a strong offering, he continued: for this reason its advantages have not been noticed either, and that is why in the non-industrial system building materials, energy and national capital are wasted.
Stressing that consuming national resources has no good consequences for the future, Gooran said the private sector has not done what was expected either; although we have performed well in industry, we have not succeeded in industrialization. He said that in our country cheap materials and energy are given to producers, so they are not used properly.
He added that industrialized construction needs continuous planning and execution and a plan for its future; producers will not accept investment risk without a clear future, because they need costly machinery and infrastructure. Gooran described the housing economy as dependent on the macro economy and said that without a good plan, intermittent plans will not improve it.
He reminded that another economic point relates to speed: because industrialization is fast, the return on investment is also better for the private sector. Gooran noted that the lifespan of the building will also increase well in this approach, which helps the country's economy.
