Steel structure producers and exporters commission formed in Golestan

Following the formation of commissions of steel structure producers and exporters in various provinces of the country, the Golestan Province commission began its work on 22 October with seven active companies in this field.

At this meeting the commission's bodies were formed: Eng. Omid Shahidi was elected chairman, Mr. Amiya of Shaloudeh Foulad Company vice-chairman, and Mr. Adina of Sabz Jahan Company secretary.

Eng. Shahidi, an active figure in Golestan's steel structure sector, said the commission's scope is to better introduce steel structures and related products and to promote their use in Golestan Province among consumers — engineers, mass-housing developers and government bodies (roads and urban development, the engineering system organization and others).

He added that part of the commission's work is professional advocacy, and that it will pursue issues such as educating the engineering community about the role of steel structures, which has been neglected in the construction industry.
